TARP Worldwide Featured in Patient Safety Magazine

An article authored by TARP Worldwide Vice Chairman John Goodman is featured in the March/April 2008 issue of Patient Safety. The article, entitled, “Satisfied Patients Lower Risk and Improve the Bottom Line,”discusses the role of complaint handling and proactive education in patient satisfaction, revenue, word of mouth enhancement, and risk-expense reduction.

“Mistakes happen every day in every industry, and for health care organizations, the stakes are higher,” says Goodman, “But TARP has found that, even when providers make mistakes, a patient who feels like his or her problems were resolved fairly and promptly is substantially less likely to turn to litigation,” In addition, he says, patients will spread positive word of mouth, which is one of the most effective marketing mechanisms.”
